Teacherと日本人教員の2名で行うティームティーチングでは、プロジェクト型学習を通して「使える英語」を習得します。英語学習を始めたばかりの中1でも、数週間後には自己紹介プレゼンに挑戦。中3では環境問題や社会問題に取り組みます。例えば、児童労働を扱った際、産業ごとの実態を調べ、課題や中学生の彼らにできることをパンフレットにまとめました。さらに、児童労働廃止を訴えるスピーチの暗唱にも挑戦。活動を通して、生徒たちは本物の英語で書かれた情報に自然に触れ、参考文献の書き方も身につけます。高校では、扱うトピックも使う英語もさらにアカデミックなものに挑戦します。自らの研究や留学、進学を見据えて、批判的思考力や論理的な発信力を養います。
In Academy and Advanced classes, students build thinking and communication skills through reading, writing, and
discussion. Through the study of literary works, students gain insights into themselves and others. Intermediate
class focuses on grammar and literacy skills in an English-only environment to prepare students for future
higher-order language learning.
In the Academy and Advanced classes, students strengthen their critical and analytical thinking and develop
methods of expression to effectively share their ideas with others. Through the close reading of source texts and
discussion, academic and creative writing, and presentations and projects, students gain insight into themselves,
society, and the world at large. Intermediate classes prepare students for higher-order language learning by
emphasizing grammar and literacy instruction. The English-only class taught by a native speaker prepares
Intermediate students for the next step in their language-learning journey.
